Standing At Bat

Standing at bat as the teams look at me
Should I deliver what they want to see?
What will it mean when it's over and done?
Ump looks at me and shouts "Strike One!"

People from here say to fight for the "red"
People from there shout out "yellow" instead
Now as I wonder if anything's true
Ump looks at me and shouts "Strike Two!"

Why in the world should I fight for a team?
If we want peace, we must stand in between
If we want peace, then it's peace we must be
I look at Ump and I say "Strike Three".
